Our doctoral study program allows students to deepen their knowledge of their chosen discipline, to familiarize themselves with research paradigms in their field, to formulate research questions that address major national and international economic issues, to develop their critical thinking, and to write and present their research results under the guidance of a disciplinary specialist. This program targets corporate executives and business consultants who wish to tackle the challenges posed by the global, contested, and uncertain context in which the economic field evolves. 

The PhD program comprises six trimesters of study, with the first year involving taught courses evaluated in-class, including core courses common to all PhD students and specialized courses focusing on the economic field. The core courses cover the following areas: introduction to quantitative and qualitative research methods, legal and ethical framework for research, organisational theories and models, and planning a research project. Specialized teaching units include research methods in economics, global economic challenges, socio-economic theories: local and global, sustainability, and wealth distribution. 

Assessments consist of 50% continuous assessment and 50% end-of-semester exams (examination, open-book exam, or in-class assignment). The final project is assessed entirely through continuous assessment. Teaching methods are participative and interactive, with numerous real-time references to the world of work, including participation in real case studies and analyses. 

The last two years focus on the development and writing of the PhD thesis (50,000 words), which is equivalent to 120 ECTS. Thesis supervision includes research seminars covering the following areas: writing a thesis, statistics for research projects, involving human subjects in research, research integrity, seminar presentations, and viva voce practice. These years also include group and individual tutorials (over three semesters) and individual guided readings (over four semesters). Thesis writing takes place, in parallel with these taught units, over the four semesters of the last two years. The viva voce defense is scheduled at least two months after the thesis submission.
