Students can choose from three majors, each tailored to a specific technological domain:

Automation and Robotics This major focuses on robotics, digitalization, and smart energy systems. Students gain expertise in technologies such as battery energy storage, microgrids, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and hybrid AC/DC systems. Business modules are included to help students understand future markets and digital business models. This specialization is taught in Pori.

Sustainable and Autonomous Systems This major is ideal for students interested in building autonomous solutions for industries like energy, logistics, and transportation. Topics include embedded systems, wireless communication, computer vision, environmental sensing, smart cities, and cyber security. The program is delivered in Vaasa and includes modules from the University of Oulu.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering This major prepares students to lead in data-driven industries. It covers AI, machine learning, data modeling, visualization, and governance. Students learn to design and manage complex data infrastructures and apply data-centric solutions to real-world problems. This specialization is taught in Vaasa.

Tuition & Fees

For non-EU/EEA students, the tuition fee is €14,000 per academic year. Scholarships are available and range from €0 to €6,000 per year, based on academic merit and study progress. Students should also budget approximately €1,000–1,100 per month for living expenses in Vaasa or Pori.

Intakes

The program offers two admission pathways:

Joint Admission Applications open on January 8, 2025, and close on January 22, 2025. The program begins in Autumn 2025.

Rolling Admission Applications open on June 18, 2025, and close on August 8, 2025. The program also begins in Autumn 2025.

Applicants are encouraged to apply early, especially for rolling admission, as seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A recognized 3- or 4-year Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related disciplines

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00/5 (ECTS scale)

  • Completion of foundational courses including:

    • At least three mathematics courses (e.g., Calculus I & II, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations)

    • One course in programming fundamentals

    • One course in control theory or linear systems

    • One course in probability or statistics

  • Proof of English proficiency via IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or equivalent

  • Conditional admission is possible for students graduating by July 10, 2025
