One-year master's degrees at world-ranked universities

Take the first step towards your masters in UK

Our Partner Universities

A masters in UK is the fastest route to a world-ranked postgraduate degree: most taught master’s courses finish in just one year. That shorter timeline means lower living costs and an earlier return to the job market, which is why the UK is consistently one of the top destinations for Indian postgraduates. This page explains how a masters in the UK works for Indian students in 2027, including universities, fees, eligibility, intakes, scholarships and the new Graduate route rules.

Quick answer: A masters in the UK usually takes 12 months and costs about ₹35 lakh to ₹50 lakh in total outside London, or ₹45 lakh to ₹68 lakh in London. You need a recognised bachelor’s degree (3-year Indian degrees are widely accepted), IELTS 6.5 overall for most courses, and proof of funds for the Student visa. From 1 January 2027, master’s graduates get 18 months on the Graduate route.

Why do a masters in UK?

  • One-year degrees: most MSc, MA and MBA courses run for 12 months, so you spend one year on living costs instead of two.
  • Global recognition: UK universities are well represented in world rankings, and a UK master’s is recognised by employers in India and abroad.
  • 3-year degrees accepted: unlike some countries, most UK universities accept 3-year Indian bachelor’s degrees for master’s entry.
  • Two intakes: September and January, with a few courses starting in May.
  • Post-study work: the Graduate route lets you stay and work after your degree without a job offer.
